Designed to enhance workflow efficiency and image quality, the Ocus® M 40 features a four-slide capacity, advanced image processing, and a redesigned user interface.
Grundium has announced the release of the Ocus® M 40, its first multi-slide scanner, expanding the company’s product lineup beyond single-slide scanners. In response to field feedback, the new Ocus® M 40 now supports up to four slides simultaneously, catering to pathology professionals who need to scan multiple slides at once. Despite the increased slide capacity, the Ocus® M 40 retains the familiar form factor, and compact size Grundium devices are known for.
The development of the Ocus® M 40 involved an extensive R&D process, with many aspects of previous Ocus devices being redesigned and enhanced. Our engineers focused on maximizing the device’s capabilities while maintaining its compact size. The result is a top-of-the-line microscope scanner that supports up to four slides, with increased processing power and storage space, all without compromising the small footprint Grundium products are known for. A significant design effort went into the removable slide tray, simplifying slide preparation by allowing users to prepare a new set of slides while another set is being scanned. An optional tray for 3×2″ slides will be available in the future.
To accommodate the increased slide capacity, the browser-based user interface was completely redesigned. The new UI for the M 40 was built from scratch, incorporating lessons learned from the previous Ocus® user interface and feedback collected over the years. New features exclusive to the Ocus® M 40 include role-based access control, scan profiles, and case-based image organization, making it even easier to adapt the M 40 to any workflow. The new interface simplifies workflow management and offers intuitive, familiar controls, making the scanning process efficient and user-friendly while handling more images. It ensures that both novice and experienced users can easily navigate and utilize the full potential of the Ocus® M 40.
The Ocus® M 40 will be available in the second half of 2024.
